A South Korean website has published a review of the Hades Canyon-NUC with Intel Core i7-8809G. That is the chip that is combined with an RX Vega M GH GPU. The benchmarks show that the GPU is faster than the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti.

The Playwares review does not compare the Core i7-8809G with comparable hardware. However, from the scores it can be concluded that the RX Vega M GH GPU is faster than the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti, but slower than the GTX 1060 6GB. For example, Playwares achieves a score of 10,147 points in 3DMark Fire Strike and that increases to 11,357 points if the gpu is overclocked to 1300MHz. The GTX 1050 Ti achieved more than 8,000 points in our review in the same benchmark and the GTX 1060 almost 12,000 points.

In 3DMark Time Spy, the RX Vega M GH GPU scores 2902 points and overclocked 3241 points. The GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1060 achieve about 2400 and 3850 points in that benchmark, respectively. Playwares has also tested the Hayes Canyon-NUC with a number of games, including Rise of the Tomb Raider. Also in that game the average frame rate is somewhat higher than what we get in our reviews with the GTX 1050 Ti, the score is lower than the GTX 1060.

Intel announced its Core processors with Vega GPU early this year. The Core i7-8809G is the top model and is equipped with a Radeon Vega M GH-gpu, which has 24 compute units and is clocked at 1063MHz with a boost to 1190MHz. Together with the cpu and gpu, 4GB hbm2 has been put on the package.

For now, the Intel Hades Canyon-NUC is the first and only product that contains the Core i7-8809G. The one tested by Playwares is a pre-production model. It is not yet known when the minicomputer will be for sale and at what price.
