Intel Meteor Lake CPUs get tdp from 5-125W and gpu with 96 to 192 eus

Intel has provided more details about its Meteor Lake processors due for release in 2023. There will be variants with TDPs from 5 to 125W and processors consisting of three dies, which are combined with Foveros technology. The GPU has up to 192 execution units.

Intel gave the first details about Meteor Lake earlier this year. That is the generation of consumer processors that will be released in 2023 and will be made on Intel’s ‘7nm’ process. That node is now called ‘Intel 4’ and Intel will announce more about the composition of the chip. For the design of the Meteor Lake processors, Intel will use the second generation of its Foveros chip stacking technology. It has a bump pitch of 36 microns, which doubles the connections between the individual chips compared to the first Foveros generation.

In the Intel Accelerated 2021 Presentation also includes images of Meteor Lake. It shows that the chip consists of three parts: a compute die, a soc and a gpu die with 96 to 192 execution units. Nothing is yet known about the number of CPU cores and no specifications of the GPU are known yet. In current Tiger Lake processors, Intel uses Xe GPUs with up to 96 eus.

There will be Meteor Lake processors with a tdp of 5W to 125W. This seems to indicate that there will be many variants of the CPUs, including economical versions for laptops and powerful variants for desktops.

The presentation also shows the design of the Alder Lake processors for the first time. They will be made on ‘Intel 7’ and will be released later this year. It is already known that this generation has a design with economical small cores and powerful large cores. The render in Intel’s presentation shows a processor with eight large cores and eight small cores.
