Intel invests $60 million in Chinese drone maker Yuneec. It is Intel’s largest investment to date in a drone company. Yuneec focuses on the production of easy-to-operate drones that can be used for video and photography, among other things.

Intel previously invested in the drone companies Airware and PrecisionHawk, among others. In addition, the company is participating in the Dronecode Project to create a shared open source platform for software for unmanned aircraft. However, the investment in Yuneec is Intel’s largest to date in the drone field.

Yuneec focuses on ease of use with its drones. The drones can be used for video and photography, among other things; For example, the company has a drone with a camera that can record in 4k. Images can be viewed on an LCD integrated into the remote control.
