“Intel comes with NUC models with tenth generation processors”
Intel may soon release a series of NUC computers with 10th-generation processors. Product numbers for NUC10 models have appeared on multiple retailer websites. This may also include models with hexacore CPUs.
Intel has not yet officially announced the NUC10 series, but product listings have already appeared at various European retailers, the German WinFuture discovered. Intel NUC PCs typically use Core-U series CPUs. These processors are intended for laptops, and have a relatively low power consumption.
The product names already indicate which hardware the compact computers will contain. For example, the product listings contain variants with Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. Intel has two i7 models in the Core-U series in the tenth generation, including the i7-10710U with 6 cores and 12 threads. This CPU has a base clock speed of 1.1GHz and a turbo frequency of 4.7GHz. This sku is not specifically mentioned. There are also variants with Core i5 and i3 CPUs on the product list. Presumably, the i5 model includes a 10210U with 4 cores and 8 threads running at 1.6GHz. The turbo frequency of this CPU is 4.2GHz. Also a model with i3-10110U with 2 cores, 4 threads and a base clock of 2.1GHz seems in the making.
According to the product lists, variants usually come with 8GB and 16GB of ram. In addition, a single NUC10 computer with an i3 processor with 4GB of ram is mentioned. Presumably, the compact motherboards of the NUC PCs will contain two RAM slots, so that users can replace and expand the working memory themselves. Also mentioned are models with 1TB HDDs. Usually NUC computers have room for a 2.5″ HDD or SSD. Some models come with an NVME SSD, and there are also some variants with 16GB of Optane memory.
It is still unclear when Intel will release the NUC10 PCs. According to initial retail listings, the compact computers will cost between $320 and $962. Converted this comes down to 357 and 1055 euros, including VAT.
