Intel Arc A370M GPU performs comparable to RTX 3050 in laptops

The first benchmarks of a laptop with Intel Arc A370M GPU have been published. From this it can be concluded that the video card performs about the same as an Nvidia RTX 3050 for laptops. The A370M is currently the fastest Intel GPU. Higher-ranking models follow.

Benchmarks performed by PCWorld show that an MSI Summit E16 Flip Evo laptop with the A370M GPU achieves a score of 4405 points in 3D Mark Time Spy. An ASUS Vivobook Pro laptop with RTX 3050 gets a score of 4396 points. An Acer Nitro 5 with RTX 3060 was also included in the test; who gets 8201 points.

In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the A370M achieves a frame rate of 59fps at 1080p resolution and High settings. That is more than the 50fps that the RTX 3050 laptop achieves at the same settings. In Metro Exodus Enhanced with ray tracing on and High settings, the Arc A370M underperforms the RTX 3050 at 19fps, which achieves 22fps. The RTX 3060 laptop achieves 62fps in that test.

PCWorld ran the benchmarks at Intel itself. The publication was given access to five identical reference systems on which to run the benchmarks. The results shown are the average of five tests.

In late March, Intel announced its Arc Alchemist graphics cards for laptops. The company then said the A350M and A370M would be available immediately. In practice, that turned out not to be the case, and in early April Intel “clarified” that it was only a model from Samsung in South Korea, saying that availability would increase “in the coming weeks.”

Several laptops with the Intel Arc A370M video card have been announced, but in practice those laptops are not available. No comprehensive independent reviews of Intel Arc video cards have been published yet.
