Intel and E-Sports League ESL Sign New $100 Million Contract
Intel and ESL have extended their esports partnership. Over the next three years, both parties will invest a total of $100 million in e-sports tournaments and other gaming events.
Intel and ESL plan to launch major esports events in Southeast Asia and Australia with the investment, among other things. In addition, the agreement includes the start of Season 14 of the Intel Extreme Masters league, CS:GO Pro League, ESL One and Intel Grand Slam, which has a $1 million prize pool.
The partnership between ESL and Intel began eighteen years ago, and in 2006 the two sides launched the Intel Extreme Masters, a global competition. In 2018, ESL hosted major esports events, which averaged around 15,000 visitors. The 2018 edition of Intel Extreme Masters and ESL One in Katowice, Poland, was attended by 169,000 visitors.
