Insurgency: Sandstorm is coming to consoles on September 29
Insurgency: Sandstorm will be released on September 29 for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The game is also coming to the Epic Games Store. On the new consoles, the game runs in 4k at 60fps. The tactical shooter has been available on Steam since 2018.
The console version of Insurgency: Sandstorm comes after years of delay. Originally, the game should have been released on all platforms as early as 2017. That was delayed until a year later, but in 2018 only the Steam version came out. The console versions were further delayed and the Linux and macOS versions were dropped.
Publisher Focus Home Interactive is now announcing that the game will be available on September 29 for current and previous generation Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The game runs on the new consoles in backwards compatible mode, but with a 4k resolution and a frame rate of 60 fps. Next year the game will get another upgrade with more improvements for the new consoles. Details on that have not yet been disclosed.
The PC version will also be coming to the Epic Games Store in the fall. The game has been on Steam since 2018. The PC versions cost 40 euros for the standard version. The game currently costs $30 on Steam. There are also more expensive Year 1 Pass and Year 2 Pass editions, which include cosmetic additions, among other things.
