Instagram lets users download public Reels

Spread the love

Instagram users have been able to download public Reels since Wednesday. This makes it easier to share videos from Instagram outside the platform. The feature was previously tested among users in the US, but is now available to everyone.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced the rollout of the feature via his update channel. To download a Reel, click on the share icon next to the comment button. In the menu there is the option to download the Reel.

If users with public accounts do not want their reel to be downloaded, they can disable that option. Other users still have the option to save the Reel and watch it later.
