Instagram is testing a system in the US that reports malfunctions in the app
Instagram is testing a feature in America that sends an in-app notification if a malfunction occurs. By reporting the malfunctions in the app itself, Instagram hopes to create more clarity among users.
During an outage, a notification should be visible in the Instagram activity feed with more explanation of the problem. For example, it must be stated which aspects of the app the malfunction relates to, and the message will be updated if the problem has been solved. According to Instagram, this is not done for every technical problem, but only if there can be a lot of confusion among users. The test is already running and will be exclusive to the United States for several months. If it turns out to be a success, Instagram says it will continue to spread the option.
In addition, Instagram is introducing a new account status page, which should make it easier for users to see how their accounts are doing. For example, it should be visible whether the app has removed photos from the user’s account, and for what reason. There will also be a warning if the user is on the verge of being thrown off the platform. From there, it should also be easier for users to request a review if they think a post has been removed unfairly.
