Instagram is experimenting with stickers that add lyrics to music clips

Instagram is working on a new Stories function that can display the accompanying lyrics for a music clip. The ‘lyrics stickers’ were noticed by Jane Manchun Wong, who often discovers novelties in Instagram.

Jane Manchun Wong discovered the new feature when she added a music video from YouTube to an Instagram Story. Among the available ‘stickers’ appeared the new option ‘lyrics’. It shows the accompanying lyrics in real time while the video clip is playing. The function still seems experimental; it doesn’t work for every song and the lyrics stickers aren’t available in every region yet.

It’s not the first musical feature Instagram is adding. For example, since last summer the app offers the possibility to spice up posts with a dash of background music.
