Instagram comes with its own version of BeReal

Instagram is introducing a new feature called Candid Stories, which is very similar to the app BeReal. Just like in this app, Instagram users can share a photo every day using the front and back cameras of the smartphone.

Instagram announces in a blog several new features for the social media platform, including Candid Stories. Through this feature, users receive a daily reminder to share a moment with their followers. Just like in the BeReal app, this moment is captured with both the front and back cameras of the phone. This way, users can share a selfie and a photo of their friends at the same time.

It is not surprising that parent company Meta introduces a BeReal-like function on Instagram. BeReal quickly gained many followers in 2022 and now has more than 14 million daily users worldwide. The app has been called the anti-Instagram because it forces users to quickly capture a moment no matter what they are doing.

In addition to Candid Stories, Instagram also comes with Notes, which allows users to share short messages with followers. The messages may consist of a maximum of sixty characters. In addition, they disappear again after twenty-four hours.
