Insta360 announces updated GO 3S for 4k30fps images
Insta360 announces the GO 3S. The action camera is very similar to the GO 3 released last year, but can film in a higher resolution, among other things. The camera is available for a suggested retail price of 400 euros.
The Insta360 GO 3S At 25.6×54.4×24.8mm it is practically the same size as its predecessor, but at over 39 grams it weighs roughly 3.5 grams more. The action camera has a maximum recording resolution of 3840×2160 pixels in 30fps. The predecessor could film at a maximum of 2.7k with that frame rate. The camera has a resolution of 12 megapixels, while previously it was 7 megapixels.
The battery again has a capacity of 310mAh, but in 1080p resolution with a frame rate of 30fps, the GO 3S only lasts 38 minutes, while the predecessor has to last 45 minutes. The new model is waterproof to a depth of 10 meters instead of 5 meters. The brand claims that the CPU in the action camera has up to 50 percent more computing power, but does not provide details about the chip used. Furthermore, the camera supports Apple's Find My function and gesture control.
The Insta360 GO 3S comes with the same Action Pod as its predecessor. The charging case has a 1270mAh battery and customers can optionally purchase the S variant without the Action Pod, as it is compatible with that of the regular GO 3.
