Inspection body shows that LG is working on a watch with Android Wear
A report from the American inspection agency FCC shows that LG is working on a new round watch with Android Wear. Earlier, the manufacturer said that it first wanted to see what would catch on in the field of smartwatches before coming up with new models.
The watch has the type number W280, but otherwise there are few details from the report of the American FCC. The watch has a round screen and runs on Android Wear, as can be seen in the description of the e-label. In addition, the watch has built-in support for 2g, 3g and 4g on US mobile networks.
The LG smartwatch supports wireless charging. This is apparent from a part of the report in which the FCC tests whether that causes a lot of radiation. The manufacturer has asked whether the inspection body wants to keep photos of the device under wraps for six months.
LG said a few months ago that it wanted to see what would and wouldn’t work with smartwatches before launching new models. However, the inspection was already underway at that time. It is unknown when LG will present the smartwatch. The first logical moment is the telecom fair Mobile World Congress. The fair will take place in Barcelona at the end of February.
