Innolux is showing a 16.1″ LCD panel with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a response time of 3ms at a trade fair in Taiwan. The panel is intended for gaming laptops. The manufacturer is also showing a 100″ screen with a 16k resolution of 15360×8640 pixels.

The diagonal of 16.1″ differs from usual sizes in laptops, such as 15.6″. According to Digitimes, this is a panel with very thin bezels, so the slightly larger screen may fit into housings normally used for 15.6″ laptops. The panel’s resolution is not mentioned. A resolution of 1920×1080 pixels seems obvious because of the high refresh rate of 144Hz. When gaming laptops will come out with the panel, it is not yet known. Innolux will show the panel at the Touch Taiwan fair starting next week.

At the same fair, Innolux shows a 100″ screen with a resolution of 15360×8640 pixels. In an announcement, the manufacturer does not give many details, but the screen is said to have a large viewing angle and large color range. It is a large screen intended for presentation purposes. .

In addition, Innolux says it will show a 65″ screen with 8k resolution that is “better than OLED”. The manufacturer calls it a Mega-Zone Display, with local dimming on more than eight million zones. The manufacturer probably uses an LCD with a backlight of miniLEDs.Last year the manufacturer already showed a 4K variant of such a Mega-Zone screen.Innolux thinks the technology is suitable for consumer TVs and can be cheaper than OLED.
