ING is going to reverse double debits that customers have recently had to deal with. In total, this concerns three million transactions. These are the result of a malfunction, as a result of which a batch of payments has been executed twice.

A spokesman for the bank tells the NOS that it is not clear when all excess payments will be reversed. ING makes via Twitter known that the transactions concerned debit card payments made on 19 March.

Many customers report on the ING forum that they have encountered the phenomenon. There, some say that they have had to deal with double debits for various payments and others claim that they have a negative balance due to the malfunction.

Update, 16:26: ING reports that all duplicate transactions have been reversed and that customer balances should be correct again.
