The credit card overview of the ING app was temporarily unavailable after users were able to view part of the credit card details of two individual customers. In the meantime, the problem has been solved and the relevant overview is available again.

The credit card part of the ING Banking app was temporarily disabled to prevent the further unjust distribution of customer data. Initially, an unknown number of ING customers were shown the credit card details of one individual customer, NOS wrote earlier today. This concerned the name and the first and last four digits of the relevant credit card number. Subsequently, similar data from another customer surfaced in someone else’s app.

In the meantime, a system update has been made and, according to a bank spokesperson, credit card details of others should no longer appear in customers’ apps. ING emphasizes that nothing further could be done with the data in the app, but has contacted the customers whose data was wrongly distributed. “We will continue to monitor it and apologize,” said an ING spokesperson.
