ING adds Siri support to payment app
ING has added support for voice control using Siri to the iOS version of its payment app. The function makes it possible to transfer money or receive a payment with voice.
The user can request the voice assistant to transfer money, after which an overview of the transfer is shown on the screen. Before the request can actually be sent, the user’s identity must be confirmed with the fingerprint scanner on the phone.
It is also possible to ask Siri to set up a payment request. A QR code is then shown on the screen, which another user can scan with their banking app. Alternatively, the request can be shared via a messaging application such as email or WhatsApp.
Siri support will be available from Tuesday, after an update. ING already added support for voice control in 2014, but that could only be used within the app. It was also already possible to open the app with a fingerprint. These features also work with the Android version of the app.
Several other apps offer a similar feature. The feature has been available in the ABN Tikkie app since September and the PayPal app also supports voice commands to Siri.
