Indonesian company presents BlackBerry smartphone with dual SIM function
The Indonesian company BB Merah Putih has presented the BlackBerry Aurora, a smartphone with the software of the Canadian BlackBerry. It is the first smartphone with BlackBerry software that has the option of using two SIM cards.
The Indonesian BB Merah Putih has agreed a licensing deal with BlackBerry for its own country and is therefore not allowed to release the smartphone in other countries. The smartphone is therefore only available on the Indonesian market and unlike the recently presented BlackBerry KEYone from TCL, it does not have a physical keyboard.
The Aurora is the company’s first BlackBerry. To bear the name, the Android smartphone must run the BlackBerry edition of Android, including the security and apps from the Canadian software maker on board.
The smartphone runs on Android Nougat and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425-soc, with four Cortex A53 cores at 1.4GHz and an Adreno 308 GPU. The soc is assisted by 4GB of lpddr3 memory, while the storage is 32GB. The battery has a capacity of 3000mAh.
The 15.2 x 7.7 cm device has an OLED screen with a diagonal of 5.5 “and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The camera has a maximum resolution of thirteen megapixels, the front camera comes up to eight megapixels. The device will soon be released in Indonesia. for converted currently about 249 euros.
