Indian retailer releases laptop with Nokia brand name on it
The Indian retailer Flipkart has made a laptop and put the logo of the Finnish Nokia on it. It is the first time in ten years that a laptop with a Nokia logo is released. The laptop is only released in India.
The Indian retailer Flipkart has put a page about the laptop online. The Nokia laptop is named Purebook X14, named after the device’s 14 “display. The Windows 10 laptop has a 14” -ips panel with a claimed maximum brightness of 250 candela per square meter. The laptop runs on a tenth generation Intel Core i5 processor. The laptop has 8GB DDR4 memory and a 512GB NVMe SSD.
It is the first time since 2009 that a laptop with the Nokia brand is released; then the Finnish manufacturer itself released the Booklet 3G. A few years later, a tablet with Windows RT was released, the Lumia 2520.
Nokia has licensed Flipkart’s brand name for the Indian market. The construction works the same as with HMD on smartphones, with Flipkart allowed to use the brand but doing the production, marketing and distribution itself. Nokia also works more often with licensees for other products, including smart TVs and wireless earphones. The Purebook X14 will be released on Friday for currently around 670 euros.
