Impossible Aerospace presents drone that can fly for up to two hours uur
The American start-up Impossible Aerospace presents a drone that can stay in the air for up to 120 minutes on a battery charge. The drone should be available by the end of this year. The company has raised $9.4 million from investors.
Impossible Aerospace late know in a tweet that his US-1 drone will be available from the end of this year. It is a drone with dimensions of 66x66cm, where the battery cells are incorporated in the frame. According to the makers, the drone is designed around the battery and the cells form the primary structure.
The drone weighs 7.1 kg and can fly for up to 120 minutes without payload on a battery charge. The maximum payload is 1.3kg and with that weight the flight time is a maximum of 78 minutes. According to Impossible Aerospace, the US-1 can reach a speed of 19 meters per second and can cover a distance of 75 km.
The company includes a controller and also a ground station, containing a 20″ screen for video and a 12″ screen with control buttons. The video link, which consists of a 1080p signal at 60fps, is provided with Aes128 encryption. According to The Verge, the company is selling the US-1 drone for $7,500. There is also a version with a Flir thermal camera, which costs $10,000.
Impossible Aerospace has raised $ 9.4 million from investors, equivalent to about 8.1 million euros. Airbus, among others, is putting money into the start-up. The company wants to use the money to produce the US-1 and develop future products.
