Immortals of Aveum and Forspoken will be the first to receive games of FSR 3 on Friday
Forspoken and Immortals of Aveum will be the first two games to receive FSR 3 on Friday, AMD reports. This latest version of FidelityFX Super Resolution includes frame generation, which generates additional frames for higher frame rates.
The two games will receive updates for FSR 3 on Friday, says AMD’s Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions Frank Azor. More games should follow after that. AMD had already said that these two games would be the first to receive the FSR 3 update in the fall. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Cyberpunk 2077, Frostpunk 2, Squad and Black Myth Wukong will also receive FSR 3 in due course.
FSR 3’s frame generation technology is similar to that of Nvidia’s DLSS 3, although AMD’s variant is not based on AI hardware. As a result, FSR 3’s frame generation technology theoretically also works on video cards from Nvidia and Intel. In an AMD benchmark, Forspoken runs at 122fps with FSR 3 enabled, instead of 36fps with the frame generation technology disabled. AMD announced FSR 3 at the end of August.
We are working with our partners to bring you the first 2 FSR3 enabled games tomorrow. More titles will begin ramping-up thereafter, as we saw with prior versions of FSR, which are now supported in over 300 announced games @amdradeon @AMDGaming
