Images of upcoming Nvidia Shield TV set-top box come online
Images of Nvidia’s upcoming Shield TV set-top box have surfaced online. These show the device in two different sizes, but it’s unclear whether it will also end up on sale that way.
The site Android Police, which publishes the images, writes that the smaller variant may be a ‘design experiment’ or a product announcement that should take place at a later date. It is also possible that it is the current version of the set-top box. The appearance of the devices does not seem to differ between the current and the new version.
The controller does look different from the current model and does not seem to have a touchpad. Instead of the smooth surface of the current version, the new controller has a geometric design, which consists of various triangular shapes.
According to Android Police, the outline of the controller matches that of previous documents from the American approval authority FCC. The same documents showed that the new remote control uses bluetooth 4.1. There were rumors that Nvidia wants to present the set-top box during the upcoming CES fair in January, which seems to be confirmed by the released images.
