Image shows unannounced Sony smartphone with thin bezels

An image has been posted online showing a Sony smartphone with very thin bezels. The device is codenamed Lavender, but nothing else has come out about the specifications.

The image in question is online set by Upleaks, who are often the first to come out with material from new smartphones. Many details of the housing are still unclear because they have been made unrecognizable in the photo. It is clear that the screen edge is very thin: that seems to be the main asset of the as yet unannounced Sony smartphone. A photo of the back was not published, but according to Upleaks, the design is similar to the HTC One E9.

According to Upleaks, the device is known internally at Sony under the code name Lavender. However, no further information is available about the hardware used and other specifications. Rumors have already appeared about the device, which showed that it will probably use a full HD screen and the MT6752 octacore soc from MediaTek. The processor is the same as the one that serves in the Xperia C4. Reportedly, the Lavender also has the same 13-megapixel camera. When the Lavender could be revealed is not clear.
