Image shows Tokina 85mm f/1.8 lens for Sony cameras
Tokina comes with an 85mm f/1.8 lens for system cameras from Sony. This is evident from an image of the lens that has appeared online on SonyAlphaRumors. According to the rumor site, the lens will be released in February for about 550 euros.
The Tokina ATX-M 85mm f/1.8 has autofocus and is suitable for Sony cameras with a full-frame sensor and FE mount. The lens can also be used on APS-C E-mount cameras. Technical details about the lens construction are not yet known.
According to SonyAlphaRumors, the Tokina lens will be on sale from February 7 and it will cost about 550 euros. The site has made a comparison with the existing 85mm f/1.8 lenses from Sony and Zeiss. The Tokina one seems to be about the same size as the Zeiss Batis 85mm.
Sony already has its own 85 mm f/1.8 in its range, which costs about 500 euros. It is not yet clear in what ways the Tokina copy can distinguish itself from that lens. Zeiss has a Batis 85mm f/1.8; that lens costs more than 950 euros.
