An image of what should be the Motorola razr, a smartphone with a folding screen, has surfaced. The phone is reminiscent of the Razr that Motorola released in 2004, a flip phone that was thin for its time.

The name becomes razr with all lowercase letters, according to telecom journalist Evan Blass. The image shows the device in one hand, showing that it is about half as long as many other modern smartphones. The width seems to be in line with other smartphones, while it does look relatively thick. The image shows a button on the housing, presumably for the fingerprint scanner.

There also appears to be a round bulge on the outside. This is reminiscent of how parent company Lenovo designed the cameras of many Motorola smartphones in recent years. There also seems to be a screen on the outside.

Since the beginning of this year, there have been rumors about the arrival of a variant of the Motorola Razr with a folding screen. Unlike current models with a folding screen, such as the Samsung Galaxy Fold, Royole FlexPai and Huawei Mate X, that phone would not be able to fold out into a tablet in width. Instead, users have to expand it lengthwise. The shape would therefore correspond to that of an old flip phone like the Razr.

Previous rumors point to a device with a screen with a 6.2″ diagonal and a notch, assuming the unfolded situation. The phone would have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 soc. It is unknown whether the phone would only come out in the United States or whether there will also be a worldwide release.Lenovo has an event planned for November 13, where the manufacturer will probably present the phone.
