Images have surfaced on the internet of a system that is optimized for mining cryptocoins and that uses special cards based on the GTX 1060 GPU for the calculations. The cards contain no video outputs and are passively cooled.

The mining system can be equipped with six such cards with the GP106-100 GPU. The pcb and cooling of the GPU Mining Card are different from those of the GTX 1060 video card. It is not clear to what extent Nvidia itself is involved in the development.

Earlier this week, it was rumored that both Nvidia and AMD are making GPUs available for mining accelerators. Miners of cryptocoins such as Ethereum and Zcash buy so many Radeon RX570 and RX580 cards that shortages arise. Because they are moving to the GTX 1060, that video card also threatens to become limited available.

The mining system also contains a mobile Celeron processor, 4GB DDR3 and 64GB SSD storage space. There are also five 8cm fans for the inflow and four for the outflow. A 1600W power supply is required to power the system. The images are published by VideoCardz. It is not known what the system will cost.
