Image shows alleged AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX from Rembrandt generation
An image would show a motherboard of an upcoming Alienware laptop with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX on it. An image also shows the entire Alienware laptop, which would come with up to a Ryzen 9 6980HX.
The picture of the motherboard that would be an Alienware m17 R5 doesn’t show much detail about the processor. Videocardz, which publishes the photo, nevertheless deduces that the die size of the Ryzen 9 6000-apu is approximately 206mm². Previously, CPU expert Patrick Schur talked about a size of the that of 208mm²†
The size of the FP7 package on which the Rembrandt apu is placed would be 25x35mm, just like the FP6 package of previous Ryzen Mobile generations. AMD is expected to announce the Rembrandt generation of laptop APUs in early January. These are chips with Zen 3+ cores that the company has made at 6nm. Processors with Zen 2 cores allow AMD to produce at 7nm. According to Wccftech, AMD is announcing the Radeon RX 6850M XT for laptops at the same time as the Rembrandt APUs. Dell would also supply the relevant Alienware m17 R5 with this GPU.
According to an diagram of ExecutableFix Rembrandt APUs consist of up to eight CPU cores, Navi GPUs with up to six Work Group Processors and support DDR5 chips and a PCIe 4.0 interface.
