Image probably shows HTC smartwatch appearance
An image has appeared that should give an indication of what the suspected smartwatch from HTC will look like. The Taiwanese manufacturer probably makes the watch strap from metal. The watch’s screen is square.
The image is online set by Evleaks, who is usually the first to provide reliable information about unannounced mobile devices. According to the telecom insider, it is an ‘artist reproduction’: that is, the render shown is imitated on the basis of the actual appearance of the smartwatch. It can be seen that HTC probably opts for metal watch straps and a square design. However, the interface shown is based on the creator’s imagination.
According to Evleaks, HTC’s smartwatch runs on Android Wear, Google’s custom operating system intended for wearables. No further details are known about the device yet. It is also not yet clear when the manufacturer would like to announce its smartwatch.
LG and Samsung have already released smartwatches with Android Wear. Motorola is also coming with an Android Wear smartwatch, while Sony has indicated that it will not use Google’s operating system.
