‘IMac with new Soc will not be available until the second half of this year at the earliest’
Apple expert Mark Gurman reports that Apple has iMacs in the works that may run on the upcoming M3 chips. The devices cannot hit the market until the second half of this year at the earliest. The unveiling of the M3 would take place at WWDC in June.
Gurman reports that in his Power On Newsletter. The iMacs have the code names J433 and J434 and are said to be in an advanced stage of design. Production of the models would not start within three months, meaning availability of the all-in-ones could only begin roughly in the second half of this year.
Gurman further states that this only concerns 24″ models. Apple has released previous iMacs in sizes such as 27″ and 21.5″, but these are not available now. Furthermore, they would be available in the same colors as the current line with the M1 -soc: blue, green, pink, silver, yellow, orange and purple.
The Bloomberg journalist also reports that Apple will release three new Macs between spring and the end of summer. These are probably the first 15″ MacBook Air, a Mac Pro with M3 chip and a new 13″ MacBook Air.
First, another reliable Apple source, Ming Chi-Kuo, reported that the next models of Apple’s MacBook Pro laptops will arrive in 2024 and will receive M3 Pro and M3 Max sockets.
