Ikea updates Home Smart app with control for Symfonisk speakers
Ikea has updated its Home Smart app so that the app can be used to control the Symfonisk speakers. Control via the physical Symfonisk remote and the Gunnarp bathroom lighting has also been added.
Ikea started the phased rollout of the updated Home Smart app on Android and iOS last week, bringing the version number to 1.11.0. One of the changes concerns the addition of controls for the Symfonisk speakers, which Ikea has developed together with Sonos. It concerns simple operating options; the Sonos app is still required for the more extensive functions.
Another new feature is that the physical wireless remote control for the Symfonisk speakers can be linked to the app. Ikea will start selling this accessory around October 1. Controls for the wireless Trådfri dimmer and Gunnarp ceiling and wall lamp have also been added. Also new is that from now on two remote controls can be used per room for the lighting and window shades.
