iFixit: Nexus 6 is relatively easy to fix
After a dismantling operation of the Nexus 6, IFixit concludes that the Motorola-built device is relatively easy to repair thanks to the use of standard parts. It would be difficult to open the smartphone.
To gain access to the interior of the Nexus 6, the glued back must first be detached. Then 22 T3 Torx screws have to be removed to expose the motherboard, after which the various parts of the smartphone are accessible.
According to iFixit, parts such as the camera, the buttons or the headphone jack are relatively easy to replace. The speaker and the vibration motor that are soldered to the motherboard can in principle also be replaced, although this will be more difficult than if these parts were connected via a cable. IFixit ultimately gives the device a 7 on a scale of 10 when it is considered how easy and to what extent the device can be repaired. The use of standard screws also contributes positively to this.
The Nexus 6 also appears to have flash chips from SanDisk on board. The 3GB RAM comes from Hynix. The beating heart, the Snapdragon 805-soc, is known to come from Qualcomm.
