IFA fair continues as a physical three-day event for invited guests

Tech fair IFA will continue this year. The event will not be open to the public, but will be limited to invited guests. These are expected to be media, tech companies, manufacturers and suppliers.

The ‘special edition’ of the Internationale Funkausstellung takes place from 3 to 5 September. A maximum of 1000 visitors are allowed on each day. When the organization announced a month ago that the fair was still going on despite the corona virus, it was still planned for September 4 to 9, but that has been shortened.

Every day is seen as an event within IFA and each event focuses on a different part of the show: press conferences with product unveilings, connected mobility, and networking for retailing. In addition, there will be a virtual IFA experience for everyone who cannot attend. Details are not yet given on this.

Many major events, such as Gamescom and E3, are investing heavily in a digital solution to allow their trade fairs to continue, but IFA clearly sees the benefit of organizing a physical event, albeit with far-reaching adjustments.
