HyperX releases two mechanical keyboards on August 21
Kingston’s HyperX division has announced two new mechanical keyboards. These are the HyperX Alloy FPS Pro and the HyperX Alloy Elite. Both keyboards have housings made of steel and the Alloy Elite uses Cherry MX Red, Blue or Brown switches.
The Alloy FPS Pro is very similar to the Alloy FPS released in early 2017, with the main difference that the Alloy FPS Pro is a tenkeyless keyboard, so it doesn’t have a numeric part. This makes it easier to use in e-sports tournaments, among other things. Both keyboards have a compact design with an almost absent bezel below the spacebar and at the top. The cable can be removed from both keyboards. While the Alloy FPS has Cherry MX Red, Blue or Brown switches, the new Alloy FPS Pro only has Cherry MX Red switches. The red backlight can be adjusted in brightness via five positions and lighting effects can be applied. The plate weighs 900 grams.
The Alloy Elite is a larger keyboard with a numeric pad and buttons on the top for adjusting volume, lighting effects, and various media functions. The keyboard comes with a detachable palm rest and there is a light bar on the top. The Alloy Elite also only has red backlight and there are four brightness settings. The cable can be removed. Eight colored titanium keycaps are included, with which, among other things, frequently used keys such as w, a, s and d can be accentuated. The keycaps for the w,a,s and d keys also have a certain specific texture. The keyboard weighs 1500 grams.
Both mechanical keyboards will be available from August 21, according to the manufacturer. The Alloy FPS Pro will cost $80; the Alloy Elite comes with a $110 price tag.
