HyperX Introduces Two New Headphones in Cloud Stinger Series
HyperX has announced two new headphones in the Cloud Stinger series. It concerns the Core + 7.1 and the Core Wireless + 7.1. Both are gaming headsets that can offer virtual 7.1 sound.
Both headphones have 40mm drivers that can handle a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz, according to the press release. The wired headphones weigh 240 grams, the wireless version is 4 grams heavier. The Cloud Stinger Core headphones have a microphone with a frequency range of 50Hz to 18kHz. The user can mute the microphone by turning it away from the mouth. The volume can be controlled via buttons on the closed ear cups. According to HyperX, users can listen to 7.1 sound on PC through Ngenuity software.
The wired headphones come with a 2.5-meter cable that connects to a device via a 3.5mm jack. As far as is known, this cable is not detachable. The headphones come with a USB adapter to be able to use the headphones on devices without a 3.5mm connection.
The wireless variant is connected to a device via a 2.4 GHz connection, HyperX supplies a USB receiver for this. HyperX writes that the wireless Cloud Stinger Core has a range of 20 meters and a maximum battery life of 17 hours. A 0.5m long USB cable is included for charging.
The HyperX Cloud Stinger Core + 7.1 and Core Wireless + 7.1 are available now. The version with 3.5mm connection has a suggested retail price of 55 euros, the wireless version has a suggested retail price of 90 euros. The regular Stinger Core without virtual 7.1 support is for sale at the time of writing via Pricewatch for 42 euros.
