Huawei to unveil Mate 30 series on September 19
The Huawei Mate 30 series, as rumored, will hit the market on September 19. This will be accompanied by a launch event in the German city of Munich. It is still not clear whether the phones have Google services on board or not.
Huawei announces the event and release on Twitter. The company does not provide more substantive information about the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro; that’s exactly what the event is for. The Mate series usually introduces new technologies to the line-up of the Chinese Huawei.
It remains to be seen whether Huawei’s latest phones will also have Google services on board. The Chinese company is allowed to use Android because it is open source, but the Google services require a contract with Google, which, according to Google itself, is currently not allowed. This in the context of the trade dispute between the US and China.
Huawei itself has not responded to that statement, but previously stated that it will not release a phone with its self-developed HarmonyOS this year. It remains to be seen where the ship actually runs aground.
