Huawei subsidiary Honor is going to release wearables
Huawei subsidiary Honor is going to release wearables. The Chinese company has announced this. Huawei has published a render of the Honor Band Zero. What the device can do is still unknown.
Until now, Honor only released smartphones and a single tablet, but the brand did not yet have a wearable in its range. Parent company Huawei published the render on his own Twitter account. The render shows a smartwatch or sports accessory with a round screen and metal-colored bezel.
The screen is not on in the render. In addition, Huawei has not disclosed any further specifications or features of the device. As a result, nothing is known about what the Band Zero is exactly and what platform it runs, for example. According to the Chinese site Leiphone, the wearable can display the time, display notifications and has fitness functions. In addition, it is said to be waterproof and dustproof with an ip68 rating. The battery life would be four days, making it obvious that it is not an Android Wear watch: so far they have a claimed battery life of one to two days.
Meanwhile, Huawei has still not released its first smartwatch. The Chinese manufacturer announced its Watch at the beginning of March, but the Android Wear watch is not yet available in stores. When it comes out, it will not initially be in the Benelux.
