Huawei sold 75 million smartphones last year
Huawei claims to have shipped 75 million smartphones worldwide in 2014, a significant increase compared to a year earlier. The share of midrange and high-end devices in particular is increasing.
In the annual report, the Chinese manufacturer indicates that the group has shipped 45 percent more smartphones than in 2013. This concerns 75 million devices, of which about 20 million phones are from the Honor brand. That is a subsidiary of Huawei, which only sells devices online.
Huawei sold its devices in 60 countries. Eighteen percent of all devices sold were midrange or high-end devices, which the manufacturer says is a ‘significant increase’. At the beginning of this year, it appeared that Huawei is still on the rise in the smartphone market.
The consumer segment of the Chinese electronics group performed the best of all segments, although the other segments also performed well. The annual report also shows, for example, that the branch that deals with LTE technology also finished strongly.
