Huawei delivered more smartphones in 2019 than in 2018, according to figures the company has shared. The growth was about sixteen percent. Huawei delivered 240 million smartphones in 2019 and is therefore probably the number two in the smartphone market.

Huawei P30 Pro

The biggest growth is in the high-end models, says Huawei according to Sohu. Deliveries of phones in the P and Mate series grew by fifty percent compared to 2018. This is striking, because the Mate 30 series was available on a limited basis in 2019. Only the Mate 30 Pro was released in various countries and was there. available at few stores. This is because the Mate 30 Pro does not have Google services on board due to the trade ban by the US government. The P30 Pro does have Google services, because it came out before the trade ban went into effect, in May last year.

Of the 240 million smartphones delivered, 6.9 million were with 5G, the company says. In its own words, the Chinese manufacturer trumps Samsung, which did not go further than 6.7 million units delivered in 2019.

Deliveries grew from 206 to 240 million units in total. With this, Huawei probably still occupies the second place in the smartphone market. Close competitors Samsung and Apple have stopped presenting exact figures on deliveries, but analysts invariably estimate that Samsung ships more smartphones and Apple less.
