“Huawei ships more than ten million smartphones per month”
Huawei has shipped more than ten million smartphones per month since May. This is apparent from an internal memo that Reuters news agency quotes. Huawei omitted deliveries of smartphones from its quarterly earnings report.
The increase in the number of smartphones delivered, reported by Reuters, seems to be due to the release of the P8 smartphone that came out in May. The releases of such devices make an important contribution to the sales numbers of manufacturers.
With the numbers now given, it seems that Huawei will deliver around 30 million devices for the second quarter. Although other manufacturers have not yet released their figures, it seems that Huawei is still ahead of Apple and Samsung, which have delivered more and more devices every quarter in recent years. Competitors such as Lenovo are close to Huawei’s figures, while previously large manufacturers such as HTC, BlackBerry, Sony and Microsoft – formerly Nokia – are much lower.
Reuters drew on an internal memo because Huawei only said something about sales development in its quarterly report but omitted figures on device deliveries.
