Huawei releases 28.2 “monitor with 3: 2 ratio in China
Huawei is releasing a MateView monitor in China with a diagonal of 28.2 “and a resolution of 3840×2560 pixels. The screen has a 3: 2 ratio and can be used for the desktop display of Huawei smartphones, among other things.
The Huawei MateView monitor has an IPS panel with a maximum brightness of 500cd / m², a contrast ratio of 1200: 1 and a refresh rate of 60Hz. The 3: 2 aspect ratio is striking; monitors with such a ratio are currently not available for purchase from other brands. Some laptop manufacturers do use 3: 2 screens. The screen can display the full sRGB color space and 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space.
The screen can display the desktop mode of compatible Huawei smartphones. That works by putting the phone on its foot. A wireless connection is then established, so that the software or the phone can be seen on the screen. The monitor is powered by a USB-C connection and also has two USB-A ports, an additional USB-C connection, HDMI and Mini DisplayPort.
Huawei also presents with the MateView GT a 21: 9 monitor for gamers, with a soundbar built into the base. That screen has a curved VA panel with a curvature of 1500R, a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 165Hz. The contrast ratio is 4000: 1 and the maximum brightness is 350cd / m².
In China, the MateView screen with 3: 2 ratio costs 4699 yuan. Converted that is about 600 euros. It is not known whether Huawei also has plans to release the screen in Europe. No price has yet been announced for the MateView GT.
