Huawei presents P60 phones including Art version

Huawei has presented its P60 phones in China. They are the successors to the P50 phones from two years ago. The most expensive version has been given the name P60 Art and has, among other things, a different design.

The P60 Art is the most luxurious version of the three. It is the only one that has a battery with silicon carbon, which makes a higher density possible. That is why it has a capacity of 5100mAh, compared to 4815mAh of the P60 and P60 Pro. The phones are the same size and thickness. Honor, formerly a subsidiary of Huawei, recently announced the battery technology. Honor has been owned by a consortium led by the Shenzhen government for a few years now.

All three P60 phones have a primary 48-megapixel camera with a variable aperture. In low light, the lens aperture can open up to f/1.4 and in bright light it can close down to f/4.0. It is also a sensor with yellow sub-pixels to capture more light. Huawei has been using such sensors for years.

The P60 Art also has a 40-megapixel camera with ultra-wide-angle lens and a 48-megapixel camera with 3.5x magnification compared to the primary camera and f/2.1 lens. Such a large lens opening in combination with that magnification is a special feature on a telephone.

The P60 Pro shares the camera with telephoto lens with that of the Art, but has a lesser camera with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The P60 has inferior cameras for both ultra-wide angle and telephoto. The phones come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G, so without a 5G modem. Huawei is not allowed to use 5G due to the US trade ban.

For the same reason, the phones run Harmony OS 3.1, so no Android or Google services. The phones have only been announced for the Chinese market, will be released there early next month and prices start at around 800 euros for the P60 and more than 1200 euros for the cheapest variant of the P60 Art.
