Huawei presents Mate 40 Pro case with built-in LED ring for selfies

Huawei has presented a case for the Mate 40 Pro smartphone, which, when opened, can form an LED ring for selfies. The case charges itself via the reverse wireless charging function of the phone.

When folded, the LED ring can also be used as additional lighting for the cameras on the back, Huawei reports. The case is operated via a button on the case, so that the brightness can be set and the LEDs can be switched on or off.

Thanks to the case, a stronger LED flash must be present than normally on a telephone. The LED ring can flip up to rise above the screen and function as a light for the front camera.

Huawei does warn in the small print that the case blocks the wireless charging function of the phone. The use of magnetic phone holders is also not possible in combination with the case. It is still unknown when the case will be released and how much it will cost.
