Huawei presents its first smartphone with pop-up camera – update
Huawei has presented its first smartphone with a pop-up camera. It is the midrange smartphone P Smart Z. Thanks to the pop-up camera, the phone has no notch or hole in the screen.
The P Smart Z, which appeared on the Italian site of Huawei, among others, has an LCD of 152x70mm, with a resolution of 2340×1080 pixels and a diagonal of 6.59″. The housing of the phone measures 163.5×77.3mm, from which it can be deduced that the bezels around the screen are 11.5 x 7 mm. The front camera has a maximum resolution of sixteen megapixels and a lens with an aperture of f/2.2, but further specs of the camera, which can come out of the housing, are unknown.
The phone runs on a HiSilicon Kirin 710-soc, which has previously appeared in other midrange smartphones from the manufacturer. Among them are the P30 Lite and P Smart 2019. Huawei adds 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. On the back is a 16-megapixel camera with f/1.8 lens, assisted by a camera that serves as a depth sensor. The phone has a 4000mAh battery.
The Android smartphone will cost around 280 euros in southern European countries. Information about the price and a release in the Benelux is not yet available.
Update, Friday: Huawei has announced that the P Smart Z will be released on Friday in the Benelux for 269 euros.
