‘Huawei P30 Pro gets camera with 10x zoom’
Images of the Huawei P30 Pro have appeared, confirming previous reports that the device will have three cameras. The smartphone camera is said to offer 10x optical zoom, just like a prototype that Oppo showed.
The information comes from the German site Winfuture, which often publishes images of unreleased devices. The site has heard from sources that it is a smartphone with a telephoto lens with 10x zoom, although it is not clear whether the system works comparable to that of Oppo. That company’s camera module, unveiled on Saturday, works with a prism that angles incoming light toward the lenses. With the Huawei, the telephoto lens can be recognized by its square shape.
The images of the P30 Pro also show that the device again contains a Leica lens system, provided with the information that it concerns apertures between f/1.6 and f/3.4. There would also be a dual LED flash and time-on-flight sensor, the latter to record depth information.
Winfuture also publishes photos of the regular P30, also with three cameras on the back, but with aperture between f/1.8 and f2.4. The camera system of the P30 is probably a wide-angle, telephoto and ultra-wide-angle lens.
The P30 would have a 3.5mm audio connection, the Pro does not. Both smartphones have a small notch at the top of the screen for the front camera. The P30 Pro would not have a 3D face scanner, like the Mate 20 Pro. Huawei provides the smartphones with the Kirin 980 octacore, but further details are still unknown. The manufacturer will announce this on March 26, with the announcement.
