Huawei introduces Vision TV with pop-up camera and Harmony OS
At an event in Munich, Huawei announced the Vision, a 4k TV with quantum dot panel, pop-up camera and its own Harmony OS. The television should, among other things, serve as a hub for smart homes.
Huawei’s 4k television with quantum dot panel can display 100 percent of the NTSC color space. The device will be available in screen sizes of 55″, 65″ and 75″ and only the latter has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The Chinese brand is also working on an 85″ variant, the CEO said during the event in Munich where Huawei announced the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro. The TV would receive an undisclosed ‘powerful’ chip, but the company did not provide details about chips, otherwise a ‘Honghu’ chip is present for image quality.
On top of the TV is a pop-up camera with unknown resolution. This serves, among other things, for video calling, facial recognition and body recognition. An application for the latter is integrated fitness training, in which the athlete sees his movements next to those of the virtual trainer. Furthermore, eight speakers with a subwoofer are integrated. Users can easily show files from, for example, mobile on the TV, including Huawei Share, the manufacturer promises. Also, external IoT devices such as those for smart homes should be easy to control via the TV, with the connection via Huawei’s HiLink platform.
The remote control supports voice input and has a touchpad. The accessory can make bluetooth 5.0 connections and with a full charge, the remote would last three months. A price for the Huawei Vision has not yet been announced and it is also unknown when the TV will appear.
