Huawei introduces budget phone with selfie flash and adjustable button
Huawei has announced the Y5II: a budget smartphone with a 5 “screen. The device should distinguish itself with a flash for the front camera and a button on the side that users can assign to applications themselves.
The Huawei Y5II is the successor to last year’s Y5, with some changed specifications. The successor has a 5″ instead of 4.5″ screen and the resolution has been increased from 854×480 pixels to 1280×720 pixels.
The device has an 8-megapixel camera and a 2-megapixel variant on the front, which is accompanied by an LED flash for taking selfies in poor lighting conditions. The device also contains an ‘Easy Key’. This is the name of a side key that the user can operate in three different ways. It is possible to single press, long press or double click. Users can associate a function with these three actions, such as launching a particular app.
Huawei has provided the smartphone with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage memory, which can be expanded via the micro-SD card slot. The processor is the MediaTek MT6735P quad-core with a speed of 1.3GHz. The battery capacity is 2200mAh and the weight is 135 grams. The manufacturer makes the smartphone available for a suggested retail price of 119 euros in black, white and gold.
