Huawei introduces 8.4″ tablet and Nova smartphone with SD625 soc
Huawei has presented two new smartphones and a new tablet at the IFA in Berlin, the Huawei Nova, Nova Plus and MediaPad M3 respectively. The Nova Plus will not be available in the Benelux.
The MediaPad M3 uses a Kirin 950-soc from Huawei itself with eight cores. The tablet has an 8.4″ screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. The screen is equipped with the so-called ClariVu3.0 system from Huawei itself, which should provide more brightness and less blue light. of the audio components in the tablet collaborated with Harman Kardon.
There is 4GB of RAM and 32 or 64GB of storage memory, expandable with a micro-SD card. The tablet also has an 8-megapixel camera on both the front and the back. As operating system, the tablet uses Android 6.0 with Huawei’s own Emotion UI over it. The whole is powered by a 5100mAh battery. There are a total of four different versions, two of which have a SIM card slot and 4G.
According to Huawei, the MediaPad M3 will be available in various countries in Europe from September, but not officially in the Benelux. The cheapest version with 32GB costs 349 euros and the most expensive version with 4G and 64GB storage costs 449 euros.
Of the smartphones, only the Nova is officially released in the Benelux, and not the Plus variant. The Nova will have a 5 “full HD screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 625 soc. The choice for a chip from Qualcomm is striking; Huawei uses a homemade Kirin soc for almost all its smartphones.
The Nova has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. The rear camera has a resolution of 12 megapixels. On the front, the device is equipped with an eight-megapixel camera. The Nova can be unlocked with a fingerprint scanner on the back, among other things.
Initially, the Huawei Nova in Europe will only be available in Germany, Austria, France and Spain before the rest of Europe can get their hands on the phone. The Nova comes in the colors gold, silver and ‘titanium-grey’ and costs between 399 and 429 euros depending on the material.
