Huawei hints at Mate 8 release on November 26
Smartphone maker Huawei has sent invitations in its home country of China that refer to the arrival of the Mate 8. The release of the device would take place on November 26. Specifications of the smartphone have been published via GFXBench.
The invitation from Huawei, published by the Chinese Mobile Dad, among others, shows a large 8 in combination with ‘Mate’ and the date November 26. At the end of October, according to GSMArena, Huawei already sent invitations for an event around the Kirin processor, which should take place on November 5. This probably concerns the new Kirin 950 octacore, which would then end up in the Mate 8.
That is at least the processor that emerges from GFXBench data about a Huawei device with model designation NXT-AL10, the suspected Mate 8. The Kirin 950 is said to be built around the Cortex A72 architecture and has a clock speed of 2.2GHz. to have. The GPU would be a Mali-T880, the most powerful GPU from ARM’s Mali stable. The NXT-AL10 would be a smartphone with a 6″ screen and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
Furthermore, it can be deduced from the specification list that the suspected Mate 8 has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage memory. There are a 15-megapixel camera and a 7-megapixel front camera according to GFXBench, and the device would run Android 6.0.
