Huawei equips MateBook laptops with Intel Tiger Lake CPUs

Huawei introduces new versions of its MateBook X Pro, MateBook 13 and MateBook 14. These laptops all get a Tiger Lake CPU from Intel. The MateBook 13 and 14 can optionally be equipped with an Nvidia GeForce MX450 GPU.

The Huawei MateBook Pro X comes with, among other things, a 13.9″ touchscreen with a resolution of 3000×2000 pixels, as HuaweiCentral also writes. This gives the notebook a relative screen ratio of 3:2. This model also has an IPS panel. laptop weighs about 1.33kg and is 14.60mm thick.

Users can configure the laptop with an 11th generation Intel Core i5-1135G7 or i7-1165G7 CPU with an integrated Xe GPU. The laptop gets 16GB or 32GB of Lpddr4x-4266 memory and an M.2 SSD of up to 1TB. The laptop also has a 56Wh battery that can be charged with 65W. The MateBook Pro X costs 8999 yuan, which translates to about 1147 euros.

The MateBook 13 and 14 are similar models. Both laptops get a 3:2 screen, although the size differs between the two models. Furthermore, Huawei provides both notebooks with an Intel Core i5-1135G7 or Core i7-1165G7 with integrated Xe GPU, although the manufacturer also makes models with Nvidia MX450 video card available. The laptops come standard with 16GB DDR4-3200 memory and a 512GB SSD. The MateBook 13 has a suggested retail price from EUR 695 converted and the 14 “model will cost a minimum of EUR 752 converted. The various laptops come with Windows 10.

The laptops will be available in China on January 20, 2021. It is striking that recently there was a rumor that Intel is no longer allowed to supply chips to the Chinese tech company, Reuters reported.
