Huawei comes with smartphones that run both Android and Windows Phone

Huawei has officially announced that it is pursuing a ‘dual-OS strategy’ with Windows Phone. The Chinese manufacturer estimates that Windows Phone alone is not enough to convince consumers. The first device will arrive in the second quarter.

The priority to release Windows Phones is less high at Huawei than to launch Android smartphones, the marketing chief of the company Shao Yang told Trusted Reviews. “However, it’s still one of our operating system choices,” he adds. “We do have a multi-OS strategy.”

“If it’s just about Windows, people might not think it’s such an easy decision to buy the device,” Yang thinks. That is why the group would focus on putting Android and Windows on devices together. “Users can then switch themselves, making it easier for people to choose Windows Phone,” said the marketing chief. The strategy’s first result should be released in the United States in the second quarter of this year.

Perhaps Microsoft itself is behind placing both its OS and Android to gain market share. Earlier rumors spoke of the group conducting negotiations with partners about this. HTC would also be interested in combining Windows Phone with Android.
